Welcome to Kayumanis E-Celebration!

In just a few short years Kayumanis has become a progressive force in the luxury villa segments that offers a signature brand of hospitality to discerning travellers. We are forging ahead to establish Kayumanis across Asia and this includes the development of an inspiring new property in Guilin, China that is due to be launched in 2009.

In addition, Kayumanis Ubud, our humble first venture that began as just 9 villas, has recently experienced a total metamorphosis. Like a beautiful butterfly spreading its wings, the property has emerged as a high-end retreat with 23 villas and a soon to be opened spa facility accessed via a private bridge on the opposite side of the Ayung River. Kayumanis Spa at Ubud is set to become the jewel in our crown with a design that captures the timeless beauty of the surrounding landscape. Adopting a more holistic approach towards personal health and beauty, the spa will feature a concise menu of nurturing rituals that uses natural ingredients.

These are certainly exciting times for Kayumanis Group and I hope to keep you updated on a regular basis regarding all of our upcoming developments and endeavours.

Kind regards,

Sinarto Dharmawan

Chef Mudana is Drawn Back to His Roots
Originally from Sanur, I Gusti Nyoman Mudana has built his culinary expertise in Asian food since 1997 in several respectable resorts, including Sol Elite Bintan Hotel, Maya Ubud Resort and Sawasdee Café at Japan. For his aspiration to elevate Indonesian cuisine to a higher level internationally, he then accepted the challenge in Kayumanis Jimbaran’s Tapis Restaurant to serve Indonesian Food to International guests, which he has been doing very well hitherto.

Chef Mudana has been drawn back to his roots and many of his dishes are inspired by the availability of fresh seafood from the nearby Jimbaran fish market and a combination of indigenous herbs and spices.

For the past year Chef Mudana has been actively involved in the exclusive series of Chefs’ Collaboration Dinners with his colleagues from other Kayumanis properties in Bali. These dinners have become a regular highlight on Bali’s social calendar by proving that local culinary talent is not to be overlooked.

Butler Wira the Balinese Delegation in China
Over the past couple of years Kayumanis has evolved as a luxury brand within the regional hospitality industry that delivers high-end personalised service. This is achieved by a dedicated team of Butlers who are on duty around the clock to anticipate every conceivable guest need. I Ketut Wira Setiawan, a Butler at Kayumanis Nanjing, is known for his responsibility and commitment within the workplace.

A graduate from Jimbaran’s Tourism Technical College, Wira first embarked on a hospitality career in 2005 as a part time Waiter at The Ritz-Carlton Bali Resort and Spa. He later joined Kayumanis Jimbaran and had the opportunity to train as a Butler. Wira’s natural aptitude for this role saw him travel to Kayumanis Nanjing in China with a delegation of Balinese Butlers. There he is assigned the task of teaching his Chinese colleagues at this newly opened property about the art of Indonesia’s renowned spirit of hospitality. This was an enriching experience for Wira that ignited his passion for travel.

Wira’s main objective is to develop his skills and successfully rise through the hotel hierarchy to obtain a managerial position. He is an easy going individual and lives by the simple motto of ‘be yourself and just do it’. As a Butler he enjoys interacting on a personal level with travellers from around the world.

> Mr. Alant Gerard Nessim & Mr. Delalande Andre Maurice Victor stayed in Estate Danyuh at Kayumanis Jimbaran in June 2008

”We have had a wonderful stay with you all. The restaurant is very good and the service is professional. Breakfasts are very big and good. Staff members are very thoughtful in meeting all of our needs and thank you for your kindness and patience towards our language problems. But a special thanks to Endi and Djoris for their special attention. We are leaving very happy on our honeymoon.”
> Mr. Philippe Vinco & Ms. Chaterine Boulres who stayed in Villa Waru at Kayumanis Nusa Dua in July 2008.

“Thank you very much for providing us with wonderful time. We could refresh mind and body. We could witness Ubud village and know the custom of Balinese cremation on cycling. We surprised to know that buried body is dig up, though… Accumulated tiredness was all released and I felt my body become light by Spa treatment, it was really pleasant. I have never had such a nice spa ever before. I would like to take it again. At night market, it was interested that we could eat some food that we don’t have in Japan. Lamb sate was very delicious, thank you very much for your guiding us. Candle light dinner was really fantastic. To dine with many flowers and candles was the most impressive. Of course the food was the most delicious. Wayan, Indonesian language course was interesting. I will never forget” Enak Sekali”. Terima Kasih. We made unforgettable and the best memories because of your caring with full of hospitality. Thank you very much. Yoshioka-san, thank you very much for your every response to our frequency changes of schedule. I would like to come back here, thank you.”
> Mr. Yasuhiko & Ms. Mizuki Sakaguchi who stayed in Villa Bunutan at Kayumanis Ubud in July 2008.

“After having to wade through knee deep water past a huge waterfall that appeared outside my apartment just to get to a taxi that could not quite make it due to the worst rainstorm in Hong Kong history, it was quite a relief to arrive in Nanjing at a Kayumanis villa staffed almost with only Balinese. The nicest place on earth it is not, Nanjing's countryside (where the emperor went for his hotsprings & eternal youth) has that perpetual gray sky that has inspired some Chinese artists to paint that black/white/gray landscape, but after a couple of proper authentic Balinese massages (most of the Kayu staff are from Bali), decent food, very spacious & well designed space, perfect peace & quiet with the silence broken only by birdsong, Kayumanis is the perfect long weekend answer to a short trip in Greater China.”
>  extracted from www.tripadvisor.com, this review is titled “Balinese Oasis in Nanjing” and was posted by ‘anilegna’ in Hong Kong, who stayed in Kayumanis Nanjing in June 2008.

Exclusive Wedding Celebration at Kayumanis Ubud
Mr. Rei Yumane and Ms. Yuki Tamura from Japan chose to exchange their wedding vows at the Dining Corner Kayumanis Ubud on 25th June 2008. It was an intimate celebration of love with a heartfelt ceremony performed before an audience of just six family members.

The Dining Corner, a breathtaking niche elevated high to blend seamlessly into the encompassing woodland, was magically transformed especially for the occasion. Decoration of the setting was a fusion of white Balinese flags, white Chinese lanterns, traditional arches made from woven palm fronds and generous displays of exotic white flowers entwined with tropical green foliage. The pool was an oasis of floating candles, while the aisle leading up to the wedding canopy was a carpet of fragrant flower petals.

The beautiful bride worn a classic strapless gown and veil in pure white and the groom looked immaculate in a crisp suit to match. The ceremony was followed by a lavish feast that took place as the last rays of sunlight faded into the inky darkness of the evening. It was a day filled with precious memories and the perfect beginning to a lifelong journey of love and devotion.
